Here’s a snap at the Seagull TLR. It takes a longer time to compose your photos. Nonetheless, i really like taking photos at waist level looking downwards through the viewfinder.

Had a chance to take some photos for my friend’s ROM day. I’ve also been thinking if this is something i wanna venture into if i ever quit my job. Capturing happy moments may just be something more enjoyable than the mundane office work. -_-” Anyway, this is just sideline/hobby for me right now. It’s just not as easy as what some may think having the best camera can easily capture the best photo.
It very much depends on the photographer’s directing skills and aesthetics judgment. How he manages his clients is something i need to observe and learn. There’s much more to learn about wedding photography.

My jaw dropped… when i realised a Lubitel will cost like SGD500! O_O my wish for a TLR soon became a lil’ impossible. Nonetheless, i found this alternative, The Blackbird Fly designed by these cool Japanese Dudes at Powershovel.

With current technology, any digital cam will allow you to shoot hundreds to thousands of photos with immediate visual results. Most of the time I’ll find myself with tonnes of crap shots to choose from. Especially for the high speed junkies, shooting like a rattling gun, deleting photos like tortise. -_-” Maybe i’m just plain “Kiasu”..worried that the first photo might suck. Yes it’ll shoot very well in low light conditions… getting pretty fantastic results. But where’s all the fun & mystery of the taking a photo?
To cure my ‘out of sort’ feeling, i’ve been drooling over vintage film cameras for awhile. Hence, the Lubitel 166+ has become one of my latest infatuation!
I like the idea of composing a shot through the waist-level viewfinder.

This is a first for me… listening to a photography talk. I always know shooting strangers is the toughest challenge… you might get ferocious stare from strangers. ^_^”
Xavier Comas shared pretty much about how he went on conceptualising his whole project while travelling in Tokyo. I could relate to his experience… Without any intended plan & being open minded gives you the chance to experience something new… . I had a great time getting lost & meeting nice folks in Tokyo as well.
Every photo should have a story behind it to invoke meaning and a form of emotion. Although most of the time i’m just being random -_-”
Pasajero is the Spanish word for Passenger, but it also means fleeting or ephemeral. This double sense embodied the artist’s entire journey through Tokyo. Xavier Commas also mentioned a Japanese phrase ‘Ichigo Ichie’ – one meeting, one time, which sums up his project. Every meeting with someone, whether a stranger, or a friend we see regularly, should be appreciated as thought it were the last time.

Changi Exhibition Centre is really a ‘鸟不生蛋的地方’. Nonetheless, i was all hyped up and ready to snap some photos of the awesome drifting motions on the track. I might have too much expectation over the race without realising that the race was for ‘Pro/Am’. So i get to see more crashing towards the barricade than a nice complete drift on the track. -_- Nothing like initial D. hah.
That aside, i met some really nice people who offered sun block lotion, a spot to shoot. I was also drenched in the train. Thanks to them… they let me take shelter under their huge umbrella.

Borrowed a 80-200mm lens today! Definitely saving up for this baby before I turn 30. hehe. Meanwhile, I’ll get my baby ready with this lens for Formula Drift this weekend
Amazing how iPhone can snap a photo unknowingly. There I was on the train observing people… . The speculation of them being father & son was highly possible.
“Different Generations of Techie”
